Old Las Vegas, east of the Strip
Winchester is one of the smaller unincorporated towns of Clark County, squeezed between Paradise and the east valley. The Las Vegas Country Club sits inside it, Desert Inn Road runs across it, and the county's Winchester Dondero Cultural Center is a local landmark.
The Census Bureau's American Community Survey (2020–2024 estimates) counts about 17,800 housing units in Winchester. About 5,500 were built in the 1970s and 3,500 in the 1960s, and fewer than 3% came after 2010. Owner-occupied homes are about a third of the total.
Mostly electric, so size carefully
About 10,300 of Winchester's 14,700 occupied homes heat with electricity, and only about 4,000 with utility gas. That's the highest electric share anywhere on our route.

Utility gas Other fuel
For a generator, an all-electric house means more load and, often, no gas line to fuel the unit. Propane solves the fuel side. A load manager can solve the size side, letting a mid-size unit keep the house livable without running everything at once.
Checking a unit beside a mid-century homeOlder homes, older panels
Mid-century homes around Winchester often have original or early replacement panels. Before a transfer switch or interlock goes in, we check the panel's condition and capacity and tell you if it needs attention first. Winchester is about 15 road miles from our North Las Vegas base, under 20 minutes most of the day.
