West-side homes from four decades
Spring Valley is an unincorporated town of Clark County on the west side of the valley, west of Paradise and north of Enterprise. Spring Mountain Road and Rainbow Boulevard run through the middle of it, and Desert Breeze Park is one of its larger public spaces.
The Census Bureau's American Community Survey (2020–2024 estimates) counts about 94,300 housing units in Spring Valley. About 26,200 were built in the 1990s, 24,600 in the 2000s and 16,300 in the 2010s, so most homes here have newer panels and wiring than the central valley.
Gas lines make it simpler
About 55,600 occupied Spring Valley homes heat with utility gas from Southwest Gas, and about 28,400 with electricity. A gas home can usually run a standby generator straight from the existing meter, and with the furnace on gas, the air conditioner is the only big electric load the generator has to cover.

Two-story houses are common in Spring Valley, often with the central air split into two systems. That changes the sizing: two smaller compressors starting at different times can be easier on a generator than one large one, especially with a load manager.
Servicing a standby unit on the west sideFitting a unit between house and wall
West-side lots tend to have narrow side yards with a block wall a few feet from the house. A standby generator needs clearance for airflow and for service access, plus distance from windows. On the site visit we measure the options and show you where the unit can go before anything is ordered.
