Gas, electric and the east-side mix
About 37,000 occupied Sunrise Manor homes heat with utility gas and about 24,300 with electricity. Gas homes can run a standby unit off the Southwest Gas meter. Electric-heat homes need the generator sized for heating as well as cooling, or a load manager to juggle the two.

With a median home value around $320,000, a lot of Sunrise Manor owners start with a portable hookup rather than a full standby system, then upgrade later. Both are fine starting points, and we'll lay out the price of each.
Finishing an install under the east-side ridgeWind and dust on the east side
Monsoon storms and spring wind push dust across the east valley. A generator here needs its air filter and enclosure vents kept clear, and we look at whether the unit's spot is sheltered from the worst of the blowing dust before we pour a pad.
